On August 6th, Seventh Generation Solutions took part in the educators’ STEM conference at Santaluces High School. We were incredibly excited to participate, and found the event to be an incredible opportunity to talk to hundreds of educators from around Palm Beach County. The event was a great way for us to spread awareness for aquaponics and its applications in the classroom setting.
In the main conference space we set up our booth among other local vendors, putting one of our Mini Gardens and a larger, custom-built Aqua Garden up for display, as well as showcasing two of our Mini Garden kits which were raffled off by the end of the day. We had a great time talking to everyone who stopped by, and we were proud to be able to discuss what we love to do with so many interested teachers.
In addition to greeting attendees at our booth, throughout the day we held several classroom sessions led by Mason Silvia, Ron Sieber, and Jacob Wub. All those who attended these sessions were introduced to Seventh Generation Solutions and our company goals, as well as led through a workshop on how to build their own mini aquaponics systems in a jar. These workshops were a huge success, and a few participants even indicated an interest in using this DIY project in their classrooms for future labs.
Overall, we had a great time speaking to teachers from all over Palm Beach County, and by the end of the day, several suggested that they would incorporate lessons about aquaponics into their classrooms. Thank you to the event organizers for hosting us, and thank you to everyone who talked to us and joined us in our workshops! For those interested in joining us at future events, such as the workshops we offer at our storefront, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and subscribe to our email list for updates. Hope to see you soon!
